Posted by in : News , trackback

This years Local Elections are well underway with the Liberal Democrats campaigning in 14 wards accross the town. Because of the death of Tom Snowdon the Brus Election will now be held on 8th June.

The Liberal Democrats showed in last years General Election that they are the only challenger to Labour in Hartlepool by taking 30.4% of the vote compared to 11.4% for the Conservatives and 3.5% for UKIP.. Party Chairman Kevin Kelly said ” we are contesting seats in Labour’s heartland and hope that people support our candidates and bring about change in Hartlepool. People last year supported us and we hope to maintain that support and hopefully build on it to enable us to make gains accross the town and help to reduce one parties domination of Hartlepool Council”.
