Anger as crime soars across Hartlepool August 25, 2004
Posted by in : News , trackbackSeven years after Labour came to power, crime is rocketing across Hartlepool. In particular, violent crime has trebled in just 3 years.
Local barrister Jody Dunn is campaigning for real action to tackle crime and Police underfunding.
Jody said: “Many people are angry at Labour’s lack of action on crime in the seven years that they have been in power. Despite plenty of tough talk from Labour politicians, things just keep getting worse.”
The Lib Dems are fighting for better funding for our local Police. Under Labour our local Police force is facing cuts due to a £7 million budget debt this year.
Jody Dunn said: “We want to see more Police Officers on patrol in Hartlepool to really crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour. Sadly, while Labour continue to underfund our local Police, this is unlikely to happen.”
